Experts apprised and trained the engineers in recent developments in concerned fields. The concept of Geographic Information System (GIS) and its application scope was introduced focusing the department achievements in this field. Building and road codes with code of ethics for engineers were presented wherein Col ® Waheedullah, Director NAB, elaborated PPRA rules while Engr Ijaz Yousafzai, DG Pakhtunkhwa Highway Authority (PkHA), explained road pavement and design rules. Similarly Sardar Muhammad, Director IT C&W, highlighted IT applications and global spot location for ease in construction and maintenance of roads. The concluding ceremony of the course was chaired by Engr Zahid Arif, Secretary Communication & Works, while Col ® Khurshid Alam Khan, DG National Accountability Bureau (NAB), was chief guest on this occasion who distributed certificates among the successful participants.

Addressing the ceremony Khurshid Alam Khan and Engr Zahid Arif asked the engineers to focus on research, innovation and work hard in their respective fields that would enhance their professional and creative capabilities. It would also expedite the process of national prosperity. They said Transparency in construction and project completion is a must for over all national development. Engr Zahid Arif said training courses would be continued to equip engineers with latest skills and technologies in construction sector. DG NAB termed training a must for capacity building and enhancing professional skills of engineers. He highly appreciated the lead role of Secretary C&W for initiating CPD program in his department which also benefitted engineers and officials of other provincial nation building departments. He stressed that other departments should also launch such like programs for improvement in their respective departments thereby enhancing confidence of general public on its working.
